I actually first heard this on YTMND.com, which led me to find out that it's a song from the Broadway musical Avenue Q, which is a spoof of Sesame Street. It's currently one of the main attractions of Wynn Las Vegas, so I saw lots of promos for it (without sound) while we were waiting in line at the buffet last year.
Trekkie Monster is a direct spoof of the Cookie Monster.
