I haven't had an ice cream sundae in ages, but was reminded of it on the forums, so I decided to get one on my lunch break. It seems the closest place that would have them would be Cold Stone Creamery, so that's where I went.
Mmm. Hot fudge.
When I was finished, there was the cherry stem... so I figured I'd try the whole "tie a cherry stem with your tongue" thing. Not too bad on a first try--took about 10 minutes.

YouTube removed my Kanye West / Mike Myers skit
:(
Why? It can't be any offensive content... afterall, it was aired on national television, and didn't get any complaints! And there are plenty of other videos on YouTube that (a) have been aired on TV, and (b) contain longer segments of the shows, if not an entire episode. Friggin' dumbasses. Ugh.

Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow
Oh my God, that's today!
They're showing The Day After Tomorrow on Cinemax right now. Which reminds me of two things:
1. Emmy Rossum is really cute.
2. The South Park parody.

Tired
I've been up since 8:30am, because I promised to help Joyce move, and had to go rent a pickup truck with her (she was afraid to drive something so large). We got a full-sized pikcup, the Dodge Ram 1500 (not sure which trim--forgot to check). We drove all over town, as she had to pickup furniture from her friends, as well as move various things from her old apartment to the new one, which took several trips.
After most of the moving had finished, I helped her set up a few things at her new apartment. By the time we were done, it was 11:30pm. And here I am, four hours later, just about ready to go to bed.
I have a few things I have to remember to do after I wake up:

I have a few things I have to remember to do after I wake up:
- Get a new wok from Marukai
- Go to Fry's Electronics and buy a DVD±R drive and some blank DVDs for work
- Pick up some softdrinks
- Call Joyce to see when she wants me to help her fix her computer desk (again)

Internet IQ tests
With the influence of Club3G, I just took yet another online IQ test. This one's called the "Super IQ Test" by Tickle, formerly Emode.com, which was when I became a member and took many of its tests, including a "Classic IQ Test," on which I "only" scored a 131. (Typical IQ tests in the US have a standard deviation of 15, which means most "normal" people should score between 85 and 115, while smart folks range between 115 and 130, and beyond that would be "genius" levels.)
Now, it's been about 2 1/2 years since I took their "Classic IQ Test," so I don't remember much about it, but it seemed to be more difficult than this "Super IQ Test," which makes me wonder what makes this test "super"--is it "super easy"?

"Noodle with gravy"? Really?
I tried my hands on making some 大滷麵 (or, at least, the "soup" for it) on Monday, and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Next time I think I'll stir-fry the vegetables that tend to turn mushy quickly, and keep them in separate plates, rather than cook them in the broth, because by the time I added eggs into the broth, the snowpeas had already turned soft and dark green, and of course they don't hold up well in reheating.
While looking for a more-or-less "official" English name for 大滷麵, the only name I could find was "noodle with gravy," but that "translation" comes from mainland China, where I more often see it as "打卤面." Guess I'll check the menus in restaurants to see what they have it listed as in English. Who knows, maybe it'll just be "dalu mein," like "chow mein" or "lo mein."

No day but today
Since I missed Rent (the film version) in the theaters (sort of... they still had a few showings out in like Burbank or something), I had to wait for the DVD.
Well, the DVD came out this week. So I picked it up, along with Domino. I decided to watch Domino first, since it was shorter, and I had lower expectations for it. It was okay. But I just finished watching Rent, and it was great. I don't know how it was compared to the Broadway musical, but since it had most of the original Broadway cast, it can't be too far off.
I have to agree with Kat Dennings--Rosario Dawson looked great, but she doesn't look 19. The fact that "Roger" had a line saying that she looked 16 didn't help, either.
Also, I don't see this listed on IMDb yet, in the subway scene, look for the blonde woman who sits down in the background to disappear and reappear in between shots.

Congrats to David and Jennifer
Just heard from David last night that Jennifer is pregnant again. The new baby is expected in August. They don't know the gender yet, but David is hoping that it will be a girl, since they already have a son (Jonathan).

If you only knew the power... of the Darkside
I was looking at my DVDs, trying to decide on which one to encode for my PSP, and thought about War of the Worlds for a few secs.
Then I decided not to. Because I can no longer see Tom Cruise without thinking about this:

For the first time
I got drunk for the first time in my life on Friday night. I think my not having had any dinner that night might have been a contributing factor, but regardless, I've been curious about what it'd be like to be drunk, and now I know.
I'll never get myself that drunk again. At least I didn't have a hangover on Saturday. I don't get why people get addicted to this stuff.

If you were gay...
This is an AMV set to yet another song from Avenue Q, "If You Were Gay." Hilarious.

I just remembered
This is, obviously, too late for Valentine's, but I just remembered this thing from a while back. Lovely, isn't it? Get it at TomatoAlligator.com.
James Blunt
This isn't James Blunt. This is a parody of his music video for "You're Beautiful." It's funnier if you've seen his original video.

So Betty went back to school...
Got a call from Betty earlier. Turns out she's gone back to school, studying real estate (which explains her blog entry). I guess the different jobs that she's had before weren't really to her liking. She needs to find something that she's passionate about, to make that her career. Life would be much better that way--doing what you love.
I dunno, though. While she did seem interested in real estate, I didn't get the feeling that she was passionate about it.

The Internet is for...
I actually first heard this on YTMND.com, which led me to find out that it's a song from the Broadway musical Avenue Q, which is a spoof of Sesame Street. It's currently one of the main attractions of Wynn Las Vegas, so I saw lots of promos for it (without sound) while we were waiting in line at the buffet last year.
Trekkie Monster is a direct spoof of the Cookie Monster.

Little Red Riding Hood... what are you doing?
This one has been around for a while, but I didn't find it on YouTube, so I uploaded my copy.
It's kind of a "WTF" type commercial for anyone outside of Japanese culture. Below is a translation I found on the Internet.
Narrator: "The new campaign girl for Anabuki Construction is the girl you know well--Anabukin-chan (Little Red Riding Hood)!"
[Little Red Riding Hood (10 years old)]
Narrator: "What's this? All the animals of the forest are here, too!"
[Rabbit (71 years old)]
[Bear (23 years old)]
[Deer (49 years old)]
[Wolf (36 years old)]
Narrator: "All together now, let's read with spirit... Ready..."
Everyone: "Anabukin-chan!"
Anabukin-chan: "Yes!"
Anabukin-chan: (Singing) "Expand your dreams, apartment service! Expanding hopes, apartment service. Expanding chests, expanding, expanding..."
Anabukin-chan: (upon seeing the tanuki that shows up) "Wow!"
Anabukin-chan: "Apartment service!"
