Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

The US release has been delayed, so I had to resort to downloading a subbed torrent file. This is actually the first time I've downloaded a video that uses SRT files for the subtitles. Took me a while to find a player that would show it without much hassle.

It also has a screen-cap function, which is a plus.

As for the movie--Wow. Lots of stuff coming back to me from the game... at least I think I remember all the pertinent information. I sure hope Square-Enix will remake it for the PS3.

More movies and television

The DVDs for Crash and the first season of Lost came out earlier this week. I didn't see Crash while it was playing in theatres, but it looked interesting enough that I went ahead and bought the DVD. It's a pretty interesting movie, told in a non-linear fashion with intertwining stories and characters, and deals with racial stereotypes, as well as just life in general.

Do I really need to say anything about Lost? I can't wait for the second season to start.

Also caught the latter part of Ju-on on cable tonight. It's quite different from the US remake, and made me wonder if the US version might be more of a sequel than a remake. I think if the US version had been done closer to the Japanese version, it probably would have been a better movie... which reminds me, I don't think I've watched the unrated DVD yet, even though I did buy it.

Fox's new series, Reunion, looks interesting. I wonder if they'll have to find a new cast if they decide to have a second season, or if they'll abandon the "one-episode=one-year" format, and keep the existing cast.

As expected... an unexpected witness

"I call to the stand--Miss Rita Filagree!"

I got my Scala back from Cardo today... I think the package may have arrived yesterday. As I had expected and hoped, they've replaced my old one with the new, non-cradle version. Inside the box, a note with the following text was included:
Notice: This is a new Scala that no longer needs the charging cradle. To charge the Scala, the plug is in the back near the volume wheel.
They also included the new lanyard and plastic stub, a nice added bonus for me. Looks like they fully charged it before shipping it to me, as I didn't have to charge it for very long before the red LED went out.
